Needles trump patches in treating kids' eye problems

Have you ever seen someone whose eye wanders off when you are talking to them?  This can be a big problem and can be embarrassing for some people.  There has been a study done where people are now using acupuncture to help children improve their vision when they have lazy eyes.  They tested this by making two groups of children, one group did the patching therapy which has been a known treatment and the other group did the acupuncture.  They found that 41.5 percent of the children who did the acupuncture that their problem was resolved.  The patch therapy also works but only 16.7 percent of the children’s vision was resolved.

This is great for children because growing up with a lazy eye can have many complications with their vision.  Even though the acupuncture can be very complicated to do on someone it will be worth it to get done.
