Fregoli Delusion
The Fregoli Delusion is a rare disorder that makes you think that one single person is constantly changing disguises and is following you. The syndrome was named after the Italian actor Leopoldo Fregoli, he was well known for making quick appearance changes on stage.
To better understand the syndrome here is a situation. Say you got into a heated argument at work with one of your co-workers. You leave work and meet your wife for dinner, you go to to dinner but instead of seeing your wife you see your co-worker. You leave dinner and head to the bar to blow off some steam, guess who is pouring your drinks? Your co-worker is the one serving you up a vodka tonic. Where ever you go you see your co-worker. This is what the Fregoli syndrome is like.
The syndrome is said to be caused by brain lesions and also has a paranoia nature that makes you believe that the person that is "disguising" themselves are the ones that are trying to persecute you. This syndrome is also caused by malfunction familiarity processing during information processing. Also serious brain trauma that has taken place in the right forward or left temporoparietal regions of the brain.
